New Farmers Need Land Reform In Order To Get A Fair Deal
No economy can prosper without taking adequate care of the farmers in the community. While old farmers are conversant with the land administration patterns, new farmers need land reform in order to get a fair deal.
With the elections looming large on the horizon, Scottish administrators are contemplating land reforms just as they did with the 2003 Land Reform Act and Agricultural Holdings Act.
Though both the acts went a great deal in land reform processes, things are still to be accomplished and that is why new farmers need land reform in order to get a fair deal. With the growing costs of lands all over the country, the pressure on farm rents has expanded unbelievably.
Agricultural as well as forest lands are exempt from the inheritance taxes in Scotland and making the state exchequer poorer by over £20 billion. Since lands are not divided among all the siblings consequent upon death of the owner, the number of landholders is small owning vast lands and that is why new farmers need land reform in order to get a fair deal.
